The meeting was attended by the President of the 3rd Sulaimaniyah International Book Fair Hassan Ahmad, Ali Ramezani and General Consul of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sulaimaniyah Mehdi Shoushtari among others, public relations office of Iran's Book and Literature House reported.
In the beginning, Ramezani appreciated the efforts made by the officials of the 3rd Sulaimaniyah International Book Fair for providing the ground for the participation of Iranian publishers in the fair.
"Active participation in the book fairs of the Middle East region particularly in Iraq is among the priorities of the 13th Islamic Republic of Iran's government. Due to the commonalities of Iran and Kurdistan region in terms of culture, language, religion and Civilization Sulaimaniyah International Book Fair is especially important for us," he said.
"It is expected that both Iranian and Iraqi publishers could easily participate in the book fairs of each other's countries," Ramezani noted.
CEO of Iran's Book and Literature House referred to the potentials of both countries in publication and said: "We are ready to provide publishing services and cooperate with the publishers of Kurdistan region in translating books from Kurdish into Persian and vice versa. We are also ready to exchange book copyright."
"We should improve our cultural exchanges with Kurdistan region and convey our experiences in holding book fairs to our friends here. Iran's Book and Literature House also announces its readiness for active participation in the next edition of Sulaimaniyah International Book Fair,” he concluded.
The 3rd Sulaimaniyah International Book Fair is currently underway in Sulaimaniyah Permanent Fairground and will run by November 27.
Iran's Book and Literature House is showcasing books in this event on a variety of subjects such as contemporary and classic Persian literature, children and young adults, Iranology, the Sacred Defense, poetry, Iranology, arts, and religion.
